The Innovations in Health Communications Guidebook is a resource for health practitioners, researchers, and advocates. In this Guidebook, we focus on big picture strategies, challenges in leadership and management, smart use of online tools, and creation of new media. Today, the barriers to reaching millions, organizing communities, and inspiring action around health and wellbeing are lower than ever before. Still, public health leaders have limited resources and what little we have must be used wisely. We hope that this Guidebook provides both practical how-tos and strategic wisdom to get started.
The Guidebook was created as a project of the On-Campus/Online Masters in Public Health Program at the University of California, Berkeley. Articles are authored by masters students and instructors from Mass Communications in Public Health: Digital Innovations & Social Media, led by Caricia Catalani, DrPH, MPH.
