Dr. Dolittle, John Doe, and anybody can do a little doodle at “DoodleKit” like Do, re, mi, A, B, C or 1, 2, 3.

Do you remember 1998 film Dr. Dolittle movie starred by Eddie Murphy? It was a funny movie. There’s a free website builder that I explored called “DoodleKit” founded 2006. Dr. Little, John Doe, and anybody with just a little effort can doddle at “DoobleKit” because it is easy to use and anybody can create an awesome website. It is a free website builder but of course like any other website makers you pay for a much better and super nice website. I thought web site making is so intimidating but DoodleKit made it so simple.

Are you ready to doodle at DoodleKit? It is easy as “Do-Re-Mi”, 1, 2, 3 or A, B, C.

First, register and login.

Second, choose and design your own template. DoodleKit has lots of templates that you can use which is very convenient to beginners and novices in website making like almost everybody. You can pick, edit, and share a template as well as background patterns, icons and fonts, and border effects.

Third, after choosing your template, start building your home page. It is self-explanatory but the best feature that I liked in Doodle Kit is that you can just click the red icon to edit your images and text. Then you can hide it by clicking the “Hide Quick Edits”. You can be so creative with your homepage.

Here’s the one I made just for practice.

Fourth, just fill up the boxes and notes as well as the pages. You can upload pictures pertinent to your website.

Fifth, upload the pictures of your product especially if you are selling it for fund-raising or for non-profit organization.

Sixth, take care of your blog. DoodleKit explained it well on how to blog.

Seventh, fill up your location, hours of operation (if applicable), and “post your comment”. The “Post your comment” is one the best features of DoodleKit which can attract many novice website builders.

And finally (eight), take care of which social medias your website will be connected like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google, LinkedIn, and others. A good feature of DoodleKit is that there is a search area.

On personal note, I would say that DoodleKit is one of the best website makers. It is comparable to Wix, SquareSpace, GoogleSites, and Weebly. Now, that I discovered DoodleKit, I can create a website for our future projects, fund-raisings, and non-profit organizations pertaining to public health issues. Let’s go…let’s doodle on DoodleKit!!

  1. Great post Ron and great title! This is really user friendly for beginners like the other platforms wix and square space.

  2. Wow! I have never heard of Doodlekit before. Thank you for sharing this introduction and tutorial on it. I really enjoy how you used a screenshot for each of the steps as a “walk-through”.

  3. Ah…Dr. Dolittle was one of my favorite movies when I was a kid. And since I haven’t started the assignment yet (yikes), you’ve convinced me to give this Doodlekit thing a try. I was set on Weebly. It’s all about the name for me.
